Description
Summary:The use of rotational tool movement offers various possibilities for fast and economic processing of sheet metal parts, because of the continuous sheet metal feed. Previous investigations have shown, that the diameters and the distance of the tool rolls are highly influencing the kinematics of the process. This paper describes the development of a new modular test rig to investigate the scalability of roller clinching processes. The variety of combination of rolls’ distance, rolls’ diameters and clinchpoint size enables a comprehensive experimental design to validate simulation results with experimental data.
