Summary: | Aim of the present work is the practical approbation of the invented algorithm for modeling three-dimensional (3D) model of the hardening phase in form of single particle in the structure of hardfacing obtained with flux-cored arc welding (FCAW). In the introduction perspectives of material researching that involve modeling, prediction mathematical approximation and optimization are highlighted. As the experimental sample, FCAW hardfacing with powder electrodes based on the Fe-Ti-Mo-C-B system was chosen due to its favorable mechanical properties, high hardness and possibility for using as material for increasing the durability. Algorithm consist of preparing the sample, mathematical determination the amount of material that removed while polishing, taking images of structure alternating with polishing and modeling the 3D model based on taken images. Blender software was used for 3D modeling and Image Pro Plus software was used for additional image processing and measurement. Obtained 3D model represents the internal and external geometry of the particle as well as keeps the relief based on actual data. |
