Summary: | A study has been designed with the purpose to identify those factors which contribute to motivation and professional satisfaction of foreign language (FL) teachers employed in the Greek education system. The sample consists of primary and secondary school FL teachers, FL advisors, and school directors. A combination of quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection is used: a) questionnaires, b) semi-structured interviews, c) focus group discussions, d) non-participant observations, and e) open-ended interviews. We believe that the findings will provide accounts for the issue of job motivation and satisfaction and serve as a useful corpus of data for education policy makers. |
