Description
Summary:Somatic co-morbidities of the psychiatric diagnosis represent an important issue, due to the lowering of the diagnostic threshold through a complex screening and through treatment implications. Modern Psychotropic treatments come with side effects and adjacent somatic disorders raise suspicions on the most relevant antidepressant or antipsychotic. For doctors specialized in somatic diagnoses, the existence of the “psi” symptoms induce a hesitation in pointing to certain investigations. The patient himself explains his symptoms in a different manner. There is a gap in what concerns the late detection of secondary somatic diagnoses in patients already diagnosed with a mental disorder.
