Summary: | The OECD Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) is the largest international survey of teachers. Among other aspects, TALIS aims to identify the teaching strategies adopted by teachers, as well as the teaching beliefs they hold. In this paper it is proposed to (i) analyze the TALIS 2013 data regarding the teaching strategies used in the classroom by Portuguese teachers; (ii) compare the teaching strategies adopted by Portuguese teachers with those used by the other European teachers; (iii) characterize Portuguese teachers’ teaching and learning beliefs, and (iv) compare the teaching and learning beliefs held by Portuguese teachers with those held by the other European teachers. |
