Summary: | Duodenal duplication cyst (DDC) is the congenital anomaly of the duodenal and the underlying mechanisms has not been determined. DDC, especially communicating DDC, is often misdiagnosed with choledochocele. However, consensus for DDC and choledochocele have not been established. We report a 28-year-old female with communicating DDC, who was first diagnosed with choledochocele, successfully treated by open marsupialization and sphincteroplasty. We also provide a simplified treatment algorithm for both DDC and choledochocele, with surgery the cornerstone of the intervention. |
