Inexpensive and mild hydrogenation condition: Raney Ni-catalyzed reduction of alkenes and alkynes using Et3SiH at ambient temperature

The Raney Ni-catalyzed hydrogenation of alkenes and alkynes has been developed. Et3SiH was chosen as the reductant. Substrates with various substituents were reduced at ambient temperature, affording good to excellent yields. No pressure reactor, heating, or inert atmosphere is required and the cata...

Description
Summary:The Raney Ni-catalyzed hydrogenation of alkenes and alkynes has been developed. Et3SiH was chosen as the reductant. Substrates with various substituents were reduced at ambient temperature, affording good to excellent yields. No pressure reactor, heating, or inert atmosphere is required and the catalyst can be removed/recycled by simple filtration.
