Summary:Graphic α,α ′-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-9,10-anthracenedimethanol was prepared by a one pot stereoselective double reduction in good yield and excellent enantiomeric excess. We examined the association with ortho- and meta-benzenedimethanol showing bidentate complexes stable enough to be studied by low temperature NMR. Molecular modeling helped us to propose an association complex.
