[Display omitted] A one-pot, four-component condensation of an aryl aldehyde, an aryl ketone, acetyl chloride and acetonitrile in the presence of silica sulfuric acid as an active, inexpensive, recoverable and recyclable catalyst is disclosed for the synthesis of β-acetamido ketones.
