Summary: | This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal ( http://www.elsevier.com/locate/withdrawalpolicy ). This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief and with the approval of the Editorial Board of the Journal. This paper plagiarizes parts of a paper that had already appeared in Transplant. Proc. , 39 (2007) 1432–1435 by N. Basic-Jukic et al. entitled “Renal transplantation in patients with Balkan endemic nephropathy” and duplicated their Transplant. Proc. , 41 (2009) 1619–1623 publication in Urol. Int. , 83 (2009) 200–205 under the same title that it appeared in Transplantation Proceedings. One of the conditions of submission of a paper for publication is that authors declare explicitly that their work is original and has not appeared in a publication elsewhere. Re-use of material should be appropriately cited. This article represents a severe abuse of the scientific publishing system. The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process. |
