Description
Summary:In this paper, the wear behavior of PMMA/steel was investigated by using the tribo-noise and tribo-vibration method under different angular displacement amplitudes. An intermediate zone definition between the boundaries of rotational fretting and rotational wear was proposed by the signals of tribo-vibration and tribo-noise. The relationship between the wear mechanism and the signals of both tribo-noise and tribo-vibration was established. The wear mechanism of rotational fretting and rotational wear has been well explained. ► Rotational fretting and rotational wear behaviors of PMMA against GCr15 steel balls were studied. ► Measurement of tribo-noise and tribo-vibration signals was introduced. ► Difference between rotational fretting and rotational wear was identified.
