Summary: | Consumer behavior in the context of low-cost carriers (LCCs) is increasingly noticed in many different markets, especially the dynamic Southeast Asia region, including Vietnam. This study aims to review the theory and build a research model to measure the factors affecting the intention to buy cheap airline tickets of consumers in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) by a quantitative method. Data was collected from 199 passengers of LCCs in HCMC. The research results show that factors affecting the intention to buy cheap airline tickets include perceived behavioral control, attitude, airline reputation, subjective norms, reliability, and ticket price. The study has extended the Theory of Planned Behavior theoretical model in transportation services. As a result, it has implications for both LCCs and other airlines. |
