Description
Summary:•Original design of FBG-based strain sensor is reported.•Design allows to eliminate glue effects.•The work of a real sample is shown.•Analytical estimations and experimental results are presented. New design of FBG-based strain sensor is reported. Fiber with two Bragg gratings is reeled up on a ring-shaped base. Main design feature is eliminated glue effects on FBG reflection spectrum. In addition, design reduces errors of strain measurements caused by temperature variations. Analytical estimations and experimental results are presented.
