Description
Summary:We have established a highly efficient protocol for hydrogen production from lignocellulosic biomass at high temperatures in an alkaline solution using a stable CdS/SiC composite. The composite absorbed light in the entire visible range, and the excited electrons were consumed for hydrogen production and efficient thermal radiation. Most importantly, the apparent quantum yields obtained using this method were significantly higher than those obtained using the conventional methods.
