Description
Summary:The supramolecular interactions are of importance for inducing the molecular orientation and constructing functional materials with high performance. In this manuscript we report uniaxially oriented molecular crystal of a cyano substituted oligo(p-phenylene vinylene) 1,4-bis(α-cyano-4-diphenylaminostyryl)-2,5-diphenylbenzene (CNDPASDB) with high luminescence under the driving force of the three-dimensional supramolecular interaction networks. Amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) with a low threshold value of 30.5 kW/cm2 was observed from a high-quality slab-like CNDPASDB crystal and verified by the variable pump stripe method. The net gain coefficient with 55 cm−1 is also measured. The tip of CNDPASDB crystal exhibits polarized self-waveguided emission due to the propagation of polarized light emitted from the uniaxially oriented CNDPASDB molecules along crystal surface.
