Solubility of β-Carotene in Near-Critical Mixtures of (Ethane + Propane)
The solubility of synthetic trans-β-carotene was measured in two near-critical solvent mixtures of (ethane + propane) (mixtures I and II containing 50 mol % and 60 mol % propane, respectively) using a flow apparatus. The measurements were carried out at the temperatures (333.15, 343.15, and 348.15)...

Summary: | The solubility of synthetic trans-β-carotene was measured in two near-critical solvent mixtures of (ethane + propane) (mixtures I and II containing 50 mol % and 60 mol % propane, respectively) using a flow apparatus. The measurements were carried out at the temperatures (333.15, 343.15, and 348.15) K for solvent mixture I and at (313.15, 333.15, and 343.15) K for mixture II, at pressures ranging from (5.0 to 30.0) MPa. The solubility measurements were correlated with the Chrastil equation. |
