Dispersion of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Bundles in Nonaqueous Solution

We report the observation of photoluminescence from single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) dispersed in a tetrahydrofuran(THF)/octylamine solution, providing the first clear evidence for individual SWNTs in nonaqueous solution. We also report the effective amine-assisted dispersion of C60 and La@C82...

Description
Summary:We report the observation of photoluminescence from single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) dispersed in a tetrahydrofuran(THF)/octylamine solution, providing the first clear evidence for individual SWNTs in nonaqueous solution. We also report the effective amine-assisted dispersion of C60 and La@C82 peapods. This solution phase handling is applicable to the analysis of the electronic properties and modification of SWNTs and peapods.
