Adsorption Modification of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes with Tetraazaannulene Macrocyclic Complexes
Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) strongly adsorb macrocyclic tetraazaannulene complexes NiTMTAA and CuTMTAA from ethanol solutions, with a SWNT/complex mass ratio of ca. 5:4. According to the results of molecular mechanics modeling, this corresponds to dense monolayer coverage. A saddle-shaped...

Summary: | Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) strongly adsorb macrocyclic tetraazaannulene complexes NiTMTAA and CuTMTAA from ethanol solutions, with a SWNT/complex mass ratio of ca. 5:4. According to the results of molecular mechanics modeling, this corresponds to dense monolayer coverage. A saddle-shaped conformation of the macrocyclic complexes facilitates their better accommodation on the cylindrical nanotube walls, resulting in highly ordered molecular arrays. |
