Synthesis of Tungsten Complexes Containing an Intramolecularly Coordinated Alkyne Group

Irradiation of cyclopentadienyltungsten carbonyl complexes bearing a pendant alkyne group promoted intramolecular displacement of CO by the alkyne. The resulting complexes, which contain an intramolecularly coordinated alkyne group, were characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
