OH−O and CH−O Hydrogen Bonding in Hydrated Crystals of Paramagnetic [(η6-C6H6)2Cr]

The hydrated crystalline species [(η6-C6H6)2Cr][OH]·3H2O and [(η6-C6H6)2Cr][CHD]·3H2O (CHD = 1,3-cyclohexanedione) have been prepared and structurally characterized, showing that OH−O as well as CH−O hydrogen bonds involving the water molecules are responsible for crystal cohesion.
