Reconstitution of Alanine Acceptor Activity from Fragments of Yeast tRNAAlaII

Fragments of the stem of yeast t RNA Ala II are by themselves able to load alanine. The loading is specific for alanine, and the results imply that the aminoacyl- t RNA synthetase recognition site may be in the t RNA stem region.
