Summary:Fully fluorinated coordination complexes, [M(L) 2 ] (M = Cu 2+ , Pd 2+ , Pt 2+ and L = bis(pentafluorobenzoyl)methanido), show two types of guest recognition events: 1 : 1 selective recognition of CO 2 and metal ion-selective adsorption of small gas molecules such as N 2 , O 2 , H 2 , NO, and CH 4 , while the corresponding non-fluorinated complexes show no guest encapsulation.
