Summary: | An analytic approach is proposed for estimation of electromagnetic interference (EMI)-induced phase noise and jitter. The radiated susceptibility of an oscillator implemented on the PCB is defined based on its fundamental specification. Closed-form expressions are derived for EMI-added phase noise and jitter on the oscillator output signal. A simple oscillator board is designed and implemented to verify the derivations. The measurement results confirm the accuracy of the proposed method. |
