Description
Summary:A novel low-complexity minimum amplitude difference (MAD) decoder is proposed for selected mapping (SLM)-based asymmetrically clipped optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (ACO-OFDM) visible light communication (VLC) system. With the proposed scheme, a specific set of symmetric vectors is designed to minimise the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of signal without the transmission of side information (SI) and recover SI blindly by the proposed MAD decoder. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme reduces the PAPR effectively and the bit error rate performance of ACO-OFDM system with MAD decoder is very close to that of conventional selected mapping (CSLM) scheme with maximum likelihood decoder, but at much lower complexity.
