Summary: | Numerous techniques have been described for the surgical treatment of thumb carpometacarpal arthritis. Most of these techniques require bone tunnels, which may result in increased postoperative pain, increased surgical dissection and trauma, and increased operative time. This article describes a technique for suspensionplasty that does not require the use of bone tunnels. This technique has similar outcomes to more traditional techniques that sacrifice the flexor carpi radialis or abductor pollicis longus. |
