Description
Summary:Lateral tennis elbow is an overuse injury caused by degenerative tendinosis of the extensor carpi radialis brevis. It may lead to lateral elbow pain in athletes. Although the vast majority of patients with this malady can be cured through conservative measures, some require surgical management for ultimate cure. We recommend excision of the pathologic tissue without release of adjacent motor units. This approach has led to symptomatic improvement in 97% of surgically treated patients.
