Summary: | Within a period of a few months we encountered three patients with orbital masses that were peculiar on computed tomography: All space-occupying lesions were hyperdense in comparison to the extraocular muscles, well-circumscribed, and shrunk over a follow-up period of several months. The CT appearance of the lesions makes it likely that we were dealing with cavernomas that had thrombosed spontaneously. Therefore, in the absence of ocular symptoms (double vision, vision loss), in our opinion, a wait-and-see strategy can be followed in comparable cases. |
