Three dimensional eddy current calculation using magnetic scalar potential in conducting regions

A computational method for analysis of the 3D eddy current fields has been developed. The method is capable of modeling eddy currents and analyzing their characteristics using only a scalar potential at each node with less computational time than other 3D analysis techniques. A benchmark model of an...

Description
Summary:A computational method for analysis of the 3D eddy current fields has been developed. The method is capable of modeling eddy currents and analyzing their characteristics using only a scalar potential at each node with less computational time than other 3D analysis techniques. A benchmark model of an asymmetrical conductor with a hole is analyzed to verify the application of the developed method. Finally, the validity of the developed method is confirmed by comparing the calculated values with both the measured values and 3D finite element method results.
