Summary: | Magnetic-film elements have been constructed with a controlled, continuously varying easy-axis direction across the elements. With linear angular dispersion characteristics, analog information storage elements so constructed display unusual reproducibility of analog states. The essentially two-domain storage state and well-defined separating wall are readily viewed using the Kerr magneto-optic technique. The high-speed analog record element demonstrates the capability of having a high linear density of information states. |
