Rotational stabilization of a metallic liner

Taylor instability of the imploded metallic liner used in axial flux compression experiments can be stabilized by linear rotation. One can either remove the instability or limit its amplitude by choosing the rotation speed. The cost (in field compression efficiency) of stabilization is calculated.
