Description
Summary:In this work a method that monitors the dynamics of blood sedimentation using a light transmission method is presented. This technique consists of the illumination of a whole capillary column of blood using a laser and detecting the transmitted light at different heights simultaneously. In order to show the potential of this method, male fish blood samples modified in its composition by the action of several treatments were studied. The experimental groups were a control group, another treated with estradiol, and the third treated with a pesticide dichlorodiphenyl trichloroethane. It is shown that the sedimentation process is strongly dependent on the height of the detection and that this affects the resolution of the measurement.
