Summary: | The effect of vacuum annealing on the superconducting transition temperature Tc of the ceramic superconductor Y-Ba-Cu-O system with a perovskite-type structure has been investigated. For fixed annealing time, the resistivity increase and Tc decrease become larger for higher annealing temperature, and the crystallographic lattice parameters decrease slightly with increasing annealing temperature. This may be understood as the result of the introduction of oxygen vacancies in the basal plane of the CuO6 octahedra. Therefore, it seems to be quite important to reduce the density of oxygen vacancies in the present system. |
