Description
Summary:In this communication a clear observation of ferroelectric microdomains induced by laser damage is described. The microdomains are seen clearly through crossed nicols and arise at the positive Ps side of the mark of laser damage, not at the negative Ps side. Considering the existence of oriented displacement of photostimulated carriers and local electric field in the exposed region due to the photovoltaic effect, the displacement of Li+ along the negative Ps direction is shown by an α-track technique. Therefore, the microdomain is considered originating from oriented displacements of Li+ ions along the direction of Ps. The ion moves through the triangular plane of oxygen under photovoltaic stimulation and induces the ordering of Li, Nb, and vacancy under the local electric field.
