Pore-size distributions from nuclear magnetic resonance spin-lattice relaxation measurements of fluid-saturated porous solids. II. Applications to reservoir core samples

The application of an improved model for the estimation of pore-size distributions in reservoir core samples is presented. The technique has been applied to a series of nine samples of hydrocarbon reservoir rocks. Excellent agreement with the experimental nuclear magnetic resonance data was obtained...

description The application of an improved model for the estimation of pore-size distributions in reservoir core samples is presented. The technique has been applied to a series of nine samples of hydrocarbon reservoir rocks. Excellent agreement with the experimental nuclear magnetic resonance data was obtained. Of particular interest is the fact that, in two cases, broadly similar distributions were obtained for two different samples taken from the same source. This may be of significance in the prediction of the bulk petrophysical properties of the reservoirs.
