Effect of rotational temperature on the glory undulations in the atom–diatom total collision cross section
The effect of the rotational temperature of the O2 molecules on the glory structure in the total collision cross section has been observed for O2–Ar and O2–Kr systems. For O2–Kr the effect has been well characterized by the comparison of the cross sections with those for Ar–Kr system. The cross sect...

Summary: | The effect of the rotational temperature of the O2 molecules on the glory structure in the total collision cross section has been observed for O2–Ar and O2–Kr systems. For O2–Kr the effect has been well characterized by the comparison of the cross sections with those for Ar–Kr system. The cross sections with O2 molecules at a rotational temperture of ∼900 K are close to the atom–atom results, while the cross sections with O2 at low rotational temperature of 10–150 K show a modification of the glory structure due to the anisotropy of the interaction.(AIP) |
