Description
Summary:In this article, experimental results on magnetic fields obtained from measurements of the Zeeman effect in laser‐produced plasmas are presented. Observations of the coronal plasma produced by interaction between a carbon plane target and a 0.25 μm laser beam, show for the first time at such short wavelengths the existence of toroidal and axial fields with amplitudes reaching, respectively, 0.35 and 0.5 MG.
