Summary: | Radiative and photochemical properties of a number of laser dyes excited by focused radiation of a XeCl laser with intensity up to 200 MW cm{sup -2} were studied. A method for measuring the gain of organic molecules under high-power excitation is proposed. The dependence of the dye transmittance for the pump radiation on its intensity was studied. It is shown that changes in energy, spectral, and time characteristics of radiation and the photostability of compounds under high-power excitation are associated with the formation of superluminescence.
