Summary: | For a number of years Contraves Space AG and the European Space Agency have been leading the development of Optical Inter-Satellite Link (OISL) technology within Europe. This was recognized in 1998 through the selection of a Contraves terminal by Motorola for the Celestri system. Since then Contraves Space has been involved in the design of higher capacity terminals targeted at broadband satellite telecommunication systems. Currently Contraves Space AG is focussing their activities in developing a terminal for midrange (5000 km to 25000) GEO to GEO applications. |
