Summary: | The history and main achievements of the Czech research in ferroelectrics and related materials during half of the century is briefly reviewed with the most important references. The progress is closely related to the 55-year history of the still existing Department of Dielectrics, Institute of Physics of the Czech (Czechoslovak) Academy of Sciences. The important impact of the two still actively working senior scientists, Jan Fousek and Václav Janovec, and recently deceased Vladimír Dvořák, is recognized. |
