Description
Summary:A comparison of an independent study and a traditional study group responsible for the same subject matter was carried out during the Brigham Young University spring semester 1965 with the California Psychological Inventory (CPI) as the instrument. Results implied that students successful in traditional study succeeded as well in independent study, that intellectual efficiency and responsibility were personality traits pertinent to independent study success, and that within the group of successful independent study students, those with higher social needs indices tended to be less satisfied with completely autonomous study.
