Summary: | Clathrus archeri (Berk.) Dring (Clathraceae, Phallales, Gasteromycetes), more commonly referred to as Anthurus archeri (Berk.) E. Fisch. or A. aseroeformis (E. Fisch.) McAlp., has been found in Santa Cruz County, California, the first documented record for North America. This species is well described, along with its synonymy, by Dring (1980). This paper describes the California collections based on a large number of specimens, providing further information on measurements and other features.
