Description
Summary:This special issue of the Journal of Homosexuality provides a rich context for understanding how neoliberalism is deeply implicated in shaping, taming, and domesticating sexualities and genders. Specifically, this thematic issue will explore neoliberalism's impact on those who embody transgressive sexualities and genders. Additionally, it will address lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) lifestyles, relationships, politics, and so forth as they relate to neoliberalism. Essentially, this volume invites readers to consider both the very obvious and the more nuanced, insidious ways neoliberalism negatively impacts various forms of sexualities and genders. The articles in this special issue are both interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary, and they include a variety of topics and theoretical approaches including critical theory; critical pedagogy; queer theory; lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) studies; feminist theory; and transnational feminism.
