Immiscibility-miscibility transition in lithium-sulphonated polystyrene/polycarbonate blends as seen by small-angle neutron scattering
We have measured small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) from bulk blends of lithium-sulphonated polystyrene (Li-SPS) with polycarbonate (PC) (Li-SPS/PC = 100/0%, 75/25%, 50/50% and 25/75%). The aim of these experiments was to establish the relationship between blend miscibility and short-range order....

Summary: | We have measured small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) from bulk blends of lithium-sulphonated polystyrene (Li-SPS) with polycarbonate (PC) (Li-SPS/PC = 100/0%, 75/25%, 50/50% and 25/75%). The aim of these experiments was to establish the relationship between blend miscibility and short-range order. Local density fluctuations giving rise to the SANS scattering are of complex nature and are associated with conventional phase separation as well as with the π-complexation relations. |
