Summary: | A novel method is proposed that simultaneously eliminates chirp and compresses pulses from gain-switched distributed-feedback Bragg (G-S DFB) semiconductor laser employing chirped fiber Bragg grating (FBG) with narrow bandwidth. It is demonstrated that with this method, only the central frequency of the FBG is slightly shifted from the central frequency of the G-S DFB laser; the nearly transform-limited narrow pulse with symmetrical waveform can be obtained. |
