Description
Summary:This study examines the state of cataloging and classification (C&C) education in Bangladesh's Library and Information Science (LIS) programs. Employing content analysis of course syllabi and surveys, it identifies aims, objectives, curriculum content, and challenges. Findings reveal comprehensive coverage of C&C theory and practical skills, though average credit hours are low at 1.12% of total programs. Variations exist among universities in credit allocation and curricular emphasis. Recommendations include increasing credit hours, integrating emerging technologies, enhancing practical training, updating curricula, and investing in faculty development. Implementing these strategies will improve C&C education, producing skilled professionals in the information management field.
