Summary: | This paper aims to address an important issue in B-spline interpolation. In order to reduce shape distortion due to parameterization in the iterative interpolation of B-spline curves and surfaces, we consider both the initial iteration direction of the control vertices and the parameter values corresponding to the nearest points on the initial iterative curves or surfaces. Genetic algorithm with a carefully designed objective function is employed in finding the optimal parameter solutions for high order B-spline curves and surfaces. Experiments show that the shape distortion due to parameterization has been significantly reduced. |
