Description
Summary:The result ofhydro-distillation of dry herb in Clevenger type apparatus showed that irrigation regimes has significant effect on the essential oil content of A. foeniculum. The highest amount of essential oil (2.30 %) accumulated in the herb of plant when irrigated with 55 % of field capacity and the lowest one (1.64 %) from the herb of plants which received 100 - 70 % of field capacity obtained. The plants which were irrigated with 100 %, 70 %and 100 - 70 % of field capacity, seven constituents of essential oil were identified by GC and GC-MS analysis. In plants which received 85 %, 100 - 85 %and 85 - 100 % of field capacity water, nine components were analyzed. The plant irrigated with 55 % of field capacity, six components of the essential oil were identified. Although amount of the main constituents of their essential oil such as methyl chavicol and limonene did not any significantly effected by irrigation regimes.
