Cytochemical demonstration of Adenylate cyclase activity in basal compartment of Guinea pig testis
Adenylate cyclase activity has been cytochemically localized in the basal compartment of the mammalian testis, usig 5′-adenylyl-imidodiphosphate as specific substrate. The product of the reaction appears to be localized at membrane level. Adenylate cyclase activity is present on the basal surface of...

Summary: | Adenylate cyclase activity has been cytochemically localized in the basal compartment of the mammalian testis, usig 5′-adenylyl-imidodiphosphate as specific substrate. The product of the reaction appears to be localized at membrane level. Adenylate cyclase activity is present on the basal surface of the Sertoli cells where their and the germ cell plasma membranes are apposed. Enzymic activity is found sometimes also at the level of the subsurface vesicles of germ cells. The specificity of the reaction was confirmed by incubating testis specimens in a substrate-free complete medium. |
