Summary: | The concern regarding environmental pollution has become widespread in recent decades. Within the discussions on the issue, is considered that economic growth can influence the intensification of that phenomenon. In this work it takes up discussion on the environmental Kuznets curve and discussed the effects of the economic growth in the generation of pollutants. Using an econometric model of panel, are estimates of the curve for the period of 1999-2009 in the Mexican cities that have systems of environmental monitoring. The results obtained confirm the evidence for one U inverted Kuznets in the majority of the contaminants that are monitored. |
