Description
Summary:Results obtained from community treatment programs have shown that risky and unstable personal relationships are a major risk factor in relapsing into drug use and psychosocial problems. In reference to this, it was necessary to validate an inventory to test the rehabilitation program that empowered the patients to improve their social connections through a more informed relationship with their care provider. Accomplish the confirmatory validation of an inventory of perception of personal relationships and bio-psycho-social well-being and the development of a structural equation model (SEM) to test them. A cross-sectional study design, with a sample of 286 young adults in treatment for drug use, was carried out. The main findings showed the validation of two multifactorial scales of the inventory, which links a set of three scales related with the perception of relationships (51.6% of the explained variance and a Cronbach's alpha =.829), and a set of other three scales associated with psychosocial well-being (64.7% of explained variance and a Cronbach's alpha =.949). Likewise, an SEM, that revealed 72% of the variance of psychosocial well-being was with adequate goodness of fit of (X2 = 9.619, gl = 6, p = .142; GFI = .989; NFI = .991; RMSEA = .046). Conclusion: The inventory and the SEM model were validated and could be used to test the rehab intervention program.
